Sessions #001 Jon Howell
Welcome to the first of a selection of free mixes from our friends from across the globe.
First off we head to Ibiza for an excellent live recording from good mate and Ibiza legend Jon Howell at recorded at We love ...Space
Jon is one of few DJs to move to Ibiza truly searching for a sea-change rather than to become the next big thing but that doesn't mean he doesn't live and breathe music - he's just never been one for the hype, Now eight years on, with summer 09 rolling in and in the second year of a residency at the island's biggest and best party 'We Love…'at Space, the talented DJ is a very long way from his humble start playing house parties in his hometown in the U.K.
For the last couple of years Jon Howell has been a regular guest DJ for Ibiza radio on both Global and Sonica giving listeners across the island and the web a taste of his deep techy underground house grooves. His big breakthrough on the Ibiza airwaves started in the winter of 2005 when Jon was part of the b-side crew's nightly 'b-side sessions' on Flaix FM Ibiza 105.0. It became a regular prime time slot for him playing 2 hour house sets every weekend plus a mix of different styles from drum and bass to hip hop and funk during the week, and opened up many doors for him across the island.It's his 4th year as resident at 'Bar M', plus he's set for an exciting 2nd year at 'We Love…' at Space. He'll also be playing at 'As One' Gala Night, as a Guest for Jo Mills Party in 'The Looking Glass' at 'Wonderland' Eden, and a host of other partys across the island.
